On behalf of the English Literary Association, of J.J. College of Arts and
Science (Autonomous)Pudukkottai , 51 ( III UG and PG ) students visited The
Butterfly Park at Palur, Srirangam, Thiruchirappalli on 5. 1. 2023. The bus
started from the campus at 9.30 a.m and reached the spot at 11.00 a.m. The
journey was very pleasant and they went round the artefacts on display with
great gusto.

The natural setting, the flowering bushes and plants and the beautiful
models in concrete but painted with natural colors that lent an element of real
life-beauty to the images, the caterpillar cave and the explanations given by the
guide made the trip a memorable one. The students returned home with a sense
of satisfaction of having known a wide spectrum of information about different
varieties of butterflies. The students had the experience of a picnic cum study
tour.

The Department will follow up this event with a competition in creative
writing based on travel, the scenic beauties seen and butterflies as things of
beauty and as patterns of human behaviour.
