The English Literary Association of J.J. College of Arts and Science (Autonomous),

Pudukkottai, organized an Outreach Programme titled “Enhancing English Language

Learning” on 20th June 2025 at Government Upper Primary School, Town Hall, Pudukkottai,

as part of its extension activity initiative.

The programme aimed to promote foundational English language skills among school

students through interactive and engaging activities. A team of faculty members from the

Department of English facilitated various language-based tasks designed to foster vocabulary

acquisition, word recognition, and contextual understanding. Various activities such as Word

Search , Word Association, Picture Vocabulary and Word Sorting were conducted. Students

enthusiastically participated in all the activities, and the interactive nature of the sessions

helped create a lively and supportive learning environment. The outreach programme was

well-received by both students and the school staff, who appreciated the efforts to make

English learning more accessible and enjoyable. This initiative reflects the department’s

commitment to community engagement and educational empowerment through language

learning. Ms.S.Selvi, Head of the Department, encouraged and guided. The programme

successfully met its objective of creating interest in English among young learners while

strengthening the social responsibility goals of the institution. Ms. K. Muthulakshmi, Dr. R.

Ramya, Mr. J. Leo Dabin and B.Saravana Kannan organised the programme.
