On the occasion of 75th Independence Day, Wilmut Club, P.G. and
Research Department Biotechnology conducted a short film competition on
"Freedom Fighters" today at J.J. College of Arts and Science (Autonomous),
Pudukkottai.

In that intracollegiate event competition, 27 students both in PG and UG
Students of biotechnology enrolled and interestingly participated in that event. The
history and contributions of various freedom fighters especially the tamil freedom
fighters viz., Subramania Bharati ,Tiruppur Kumaran, Velu Nachiyar,
Vanchinathan, Veerapandiya Kattabomman related short films were displayed by
the students. Earlier Dr.G.Manigandan, Head of the biotech department spoke
about the importance of freedom fighters and independence of our country . PG
student Mr. Jayakumar won the first prize. Management, principal and professors
appreciated and felicitated the students who won the competition.
