The Wilmut Club of PG and Research Department of Biotechnology, JJ College of Arts
and Sciences (Autonomous), Pudukkottai organised a special lecture - cum - hands on training
on Cell Culture Techniques on Wednesday (17.08.2022). The talk was given by Dr. S. Ganesan,
Assistant Professor (SG), Department of Zoology and Biotechnology, A.V.V.M. Sri Pushpam
College, Thanjavur. He explained that cell culture is a very versatile tool in the investigation of
basic scientific and translation research questions. The advantage of using cell lines in
scientific research is their homogeneity and associated reproducibility in data generated. He
introduced the students about different cell lines like 3T3, L6, Panc 1, HeLa, etc. and their
different types.
