The 32 nd College Day of J.J. College of Arts and Science (Autonomous) was
celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, 04.04.2026.
The College Day address was delivered by Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, M.Sc., M.Phil.,
Ph.D., Regional Joint Director of Collegiate Education, Tiruchirappalli Region,
Tiruchirappalli. In his speech, Dr. K.Radhakrishnan emphasized that in today’s
competitive world, students must strive to excel. He remarked that the students are
fortunate to be part of an institution that is committed to enhancing their skills. However,
he cautioned that excessive screen time is diminishing students’ abilities and critical
thinking. He stressed the importance of upgrading skills, noting that with self-discipline,
individuals can achieve greatness anywhere. He also advised students to choose their
career paths early and work diligently towards their goals.
Earlier, Mr. N.Subramanian, the Secretary of J.J. Group of Institutions honoured
the Chief Guest with a shawl and a memento. Dr. Kavitha Subramanian, Trustee,
Karpaga Vinayaga Education Trust, in her address, highlighted the importance of skill
development and shared an anecdote to illustrate its relevance in overcoming challenges.
Dr. J. Parasuraman, the Principal, presented the Annual Report, highlighting the
performance of various departments. He noted with pride that the College has
successfully completed four cycles of accreditation by NAAC. He also emphasized the
significance of quality initiatives and appreciated the contributions of the IQAC.
Dr. S. Sudha, the Vice Principal, delivered the welcome address. The prizes were
distributed by the Chief Guest.
Dr. P. Jeevan, Academic Coordinator and Head of the Department of
Microbiology, proposed the Vote of Thanks.
The formal session was followed by cultural programmes, including dance, music,
and mime, which were excellently performed by the talented students. The celebration
concluded at 1.15 p.m. with the National Anthem.
